Leeds United fans have taken to Twitter to call for goalkeeper Bailey Peacock-Farrell to be recalled from his loan and to go straight into their starting XI in their next match against Middlesbrough.
Elland Road academy product Peacock-Farrell joined York City on a month-long loan last month in order to get regular game time at senior level.
There are now growing calls for the 21-year-old to answer Leeds’ keeping crisis due to the form of senior pair Andy Lonergan and Felix Wiedwald.
Both keepers were signed in the summer as United sanctioned the departures of 2016-17 number one Robert Green and his predecessor in that role, Marco Silvestri.
Wiedwald made a sound early impression and kept six consecutive clean sheets during Leeds’ outstanding early season run but he then paid the price for some nervy performances.
Lonergan has taken over in goal for the last five league matches but he was dreadful in the weekend defeat at Brentford and now Leeds supporters want rookie Peacock-Farrell to be handed the No1 role.

Put BPF in goal against Boro, Roofe up front with Dallas, Saiz & Hernandez behind. Klich & Vieira in the middle. Pennington for Coops. #lufc

#lufc 15 games in and wondering where we would be if we got David stockdale a decent championship GK and Leeds fan! Surely BPF worth a try?
