Leeds United are likely to ring the changes for Saturday’s Championship showdown against Barnsley as they aim to arrest a startling decline.

Manager Thomas Christiansen is set to make alterations to the team that were demolished 4-1 by Wolves at Molineux on Wednesday night, which was the eighth defeat in 10 matches in all competitions for United.

The win against Middlesbrough at Elland Road last Sunday provided some breathing space for Christiansen, who was last week given a vote of confidence by the club’s board.

But the pressure is now firmly back on the Dane, who will be expected to oversee a more competitive performance against Yorkshire rivals Barnsley, who are 17th in the Championship table and fighting to avoid getting sucked into a relegation battle.

With United expected to spend large chunks of the match with the ball, Christiansen will surely set his side up to play differently to at Molineux.

This Is Futbol has named the expected Leeds starting XI, with four players axed from the defeat at Wolves including an attacker who goes missing too often.
