Mousa Dembele has revealed that he suffered no ill effects from his midweek comeback as he delivered an upbeat update on his fitness ahead of Tottenham’s Premier League clash against Manchester United on Saturday.
The central midfielder missed six matches with an ankle injury before making his comeback as a 72nd minute substitute at Wembley in the 3-2 League Cup defeat to West Ham on Wednesday.
Dembele has now assured fans that the worst of his injury troubles are behind him and promised that, having returned to training, he will soon be back to his best.
Speaking to the media ahead of Spurs’ clash with Manchester United, he was quoted by journalist Ben Pearce on his personal Twitter account as saying: “I’ve started training again and it’s no problem.
“I hope I will get to my level quickly. I started training well and we’ll see how it goes.”

OPINION
Ask Spurs fans who is the club’s best central midfielder and most would reply, ‘Dembele’. The Belgian is a powerhouse in the centre of the park whose strength is matched by excellent technique and comfort on the ball. He has suffered niggling injuries in recent years, but when he is fit, he is one of the first names on the teamsheet. The Tottenham faithful would love to see him make the starting XI against United tomorrow.
