Garth Crooks has warned that Tottenham ace Harry Kane could end up at Real Madrid given his current form.

The 24-year-old has made a sensational start to the new season and has been in brilliant touch in front of goal.

He has already scored 11 goals in nine games across all competitions and netted twice at the weekend in a 4-0 win over Huddersfield.

Kane will now turn his attention to England’s World Cup qualifiers during the international break and will be looking to continue his form for the national side.

BBC pundit Crooks has claimed that the prolific striker has reminded him of former Spurs player Gareth Bale, who ended up making a mega move to Madrid.

Crooks has stated that it would be no surprise to see Kane follow a similar path in the future given his incredible form and this is something that fans will dread as their talisman continues to impress.

“Kane’s performances at the moment remind me of the form Gareth Bale was in when he had that unbelievable purple patch at Spurs some years ago,” Crooks wrote in his column for BBC Sport. ”Let’s hope for Tottenham’s sake he doesn’t end up at Real Madrid. It’s not out of the question if he carries on at this rate.”

OPINION

Kane is quickly becoming one of the best strikers in world football and another season of 30-plus goals should secure his position. The big question is whether he will leave Spurs and the club’s supporters will be desperate for him to stay. Kane is a product of the Spurs academy and in truth should remain in North London if winning silverware becomes a possibility. Mauricio Pochettino has built a squad that is capable of winning trophies, but they now need to get over the line or they will lose their best players. Kane has shown his love for Spurs on the pitch and is expected to stay with the club, but if Madrid come calling it could be too good an offer to turn down. The European heavyweights are being mentioned as a potential suitor for Kane and they would certainly offer him the chance to win silverware.
