BBC Sport pundit Mark Lawrenson and Foo Fighter guitarist Chris Shiflett have both predicted that Everton will secure a win over Burnley on Sunday.

Burnley sit eight places above Toffees in the current Premier League table and are yet to lose away from their Turf Moor ground this season.

Sean Dyche and his side will travel to Goodison Park to face the Blues on Sunday afternoon in the seventh top flight match.

Lawrenson believes that Oumar Niasse deserves a place in the starting line-up this weekend and thinks that Ronald Koeman’s side will secure a 2-1 home win to the Clarets, while the Foo Fighter guitarist has predicted a 2-0 victory for the Merseyside club.

“It will be interesting to see who Everton manager Ronald Koeman picks up front, because Oumar Niasse deserves a start after rescuing them with two goals against Bournemouth,” Lawrenson wrote on the BBC website.

“Burnley are still unbeaten on the road but I just get the feeling the Toffees will continue their improvement and get another home win.”

Everton managed a 2-1 win over Bournemouth last weekend, and will be hoping to snatch another three points in the competition in order to climb the rankings.

OPINION

Everton appear to have gains some confidence back over recent weeks following their tricky set of consecutive opponents earlier in the competition. The Toffees should have the edge over Burnley on Sunday, but Mark Lawrenson is right: Ronald Koeman must pick Oumar Niasse to play up front. The centre-forward has had the patience of a saint and his reward came last weekend when he fired home the two winning goals for the Blues. Not only has he shown that he’s capable of scoring goals but he’s also become a recent fan favourite, so picking him for the staring XI would instantly lift spirits at Goodison Park.
