Chelsea fans have taken to Twitter to express their disappointment amid reports that star striker Alvaro Morata is facing at least a month on the sidelines with a hamstring injury.

The Mail is among a number of UK media outlets to report on Monday that the forward, 24, will be out until November and could miss around six matches.

The Spain forward limped off during the Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday and, according to the Spanish Football Association, the former Real Madrid star has suffered a grade two hamstring tear that caused him to pull out of the latest international squad.

Morata, who the Daily Star report is on a £155,000-a-week contract, will be sorely missed by the Blues after making a huge impact since his £70million move to Stamford Bridge during the summer window.

The Spain international has netted seven goals in nine appearances in all competitions and has lived up to his reputation as one of Europe’s most effective young strikers.

Chelsea fans are upset at his absence for a number of key fixtures as they aim to defend their Premier League title and also pr ogress to the knockout stages of the Champions League.
