Newcastle United should consider a move for West Ham goalkeeper Adrian in January as he has made it clear he is frustrated with a lack of game-time.

The 30-year-old is yet to make a Premier League appearance this season for the Hammers and has only featured in the cup due to competition from Joe Hart.

However, the Spaniard has racked up 125 appearances for West Ham and is an experienced player in English football.

Adrian has voiced his anger that he is behind Hart in the pecking order and has revealed he will look for an exit from the London Stadium if it continues.

“If the situation continues like it is then I will be looking at the market,” he told Radio Marca, as quoted on the English version of the Marca website. “I am not happy at the moment as I am not having the chances that I deserve on the pitch.

“The possibility also to play for the national team when you are not playing also disappears. The coach is not giving me much of a chance this year but the statistics speak for themselves. All I can do is fight to get out of this situation where I don’t want to be any longer.”

Newcastle should look to pounce on Adrian’s situation and look to bring him to St James’ Park in January.

The Chronicle reported in the summer that the Magpies were keen on signing the shot stopper as manager Rafael Benitez looked to bolster his options in goal.

The North East club should try a second attempt to land Adrian when the transfer window re-opens as he is certainly good enough to hold down a number one position in the Premier League.

Newcastle currently have Rob Elliot as their first-choice goalkeeper and he has been in sensational form.

Elliot deserves to the the number one based on current form, but his understudy Karl Darlow is not proving any pressure and is not good enough for the top flight.

Adrian is someone that could rival Elliot for the number one jersey and certainly improve the squad.
