Chelsea supporters have expressed annoyance on social media after forward Pedro was left out of the starting eleven to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on the weekend.
The Blues have a chance to close the gap on the two Manchester clubs on Saturday afternoon when they travel to Selhurst Park to play against Palace who are currently at the foot of the league table.
Pedro, 30, has failed to complete the full 90 minutes in the Premier League this season and he has struggled to perform on a consistent level for the Blues.
The Spain international has only scored two goals and provided one assist in all competitions during the early stages of the campaign and this might explain why manager Antonio Conte has decided to leave him out this weekend.
Once it was announced that Willian would start instead of Pedro, Chelsea fans took to social media to express their astonishment at the decision.
This Is Futbol has rounded up some of the best tweets:
no Christensen should start over Cahill and Willian should be benched for Pedro

Mmm…team as expected, but don't see why Wills gets nod instead of Pedro. Also, I'd have Rudiger or Cris instead of Cahill #CFC #KTBFFH

Pedro played a key role in helping the Blues lift their fifth Premier League title last season, contributing with 13 goals and ten assists in all competitions.
The Spaniard will be hopeful that he can feature in the Premier League clash this weekend and make the desired impact off the bench.
