Leeds United suffered their second promotion blow in five days as they slumped to a 3-0 defeat to Yorkshire rivals Sheffield Wednesday on Sunday.

A first half double from former Celtic striker Gary Hooper and a late Kieran Lee rocketĀ  add to Leeds’ misery following their midweek 3-1 defeat to table-toppers Cardiff City.

The result means that Thomas Christiansen’s side, who were leading the Championship a week ago, have slipped down to fifth place, four points behind Cardiff and just a point from Aston Villa who sit outside the play off places.

The disappointment was further compounded by an injury to key defender Pontus Jansson, who was stretchered off the field after a second-half collision with teammate Kalvin Phillips.

Fans are digesting Sunday’s setback and wondering how a team that looked the real deal just a fortnight are now spluttering and wheezing with exactly the same personnel.

This Is FutbolĀ has analysed three things learned from Sunday’s clash, including one summer signing who must be dropped.
