Leeds manager Thomas Christiansen was looking for a reaction from his team after three consecutive Championship defeats, and he got it at Ashton Gate.
Leeds came firing out of the blocks from the start and Bristol City just didn’t have an answer in the first half.
Summer signing Samu Saiz scored his first after just four minutes after he was set up by striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga.
And it got even better for the traveling fans when Saiz got his second in the 14th minute.
Lasogga got his fourth Championship goal in the 67th minute to wrap up the points for a rampant Leeds side, before Gaetano Berardi saw red for what looked like a headbutt on Matty Taylor.
Christiansen had made a shock change to his line-up, dropping Pontus Jansson and bringing youngster Ronaldo Vieira back into the team in a new-look 4-3-3 formation.
And it worked with Leeds fans taking to Twitter to show their delight after the 19-year-old midfielder was awarded his first start of the season.
One fan said Vieira should be the first name on the team sheet every week and it’s highly likely that he’s played his way back into Christiansen’s good books after his display today.
This Is Futbol has rounded up the best tweets from Leeds fans following the crucial win.

I think the difference is adding more grit by swapping Hernandez for Vieira.

I really like the change in system, 4-3-3 seems to look like giving us some more balance. Vieira in the teamsheet finally. Some energy.#LUFC
