Thomas Christiansen is in desperate need of a result against Bristol City at Ashton Gate on Saturday and has to change things up.

Four defeats in the last five Championship games – and three on the bounce – means that his bubble has been well and truly burst, and he’ll know drastic changes are in order.

They were possibly unlucky to lose the last home game to Reading, with the late penalty miss from Pablo Hernandez costing them, but the facts are that in two games in September they’ve yet to hit the net.

And that means the pressure is heaping up on striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga after a solid start to his career at Elland Road.

A recent report said that the former Bundesliga striker was growing disillusioned by life at Leeds after their recent results, but it would be wrong to read too much into that.

It was only a few weeks ago that fans were heralding him for his commitment to the team around the birth of his child.

However, Christiansen does have options, with Jay-Roy Grot, Pawel Cibicki and Kemar Roofe all capable of filling in up top.

Christiansen is expected to drop his 4-2-3-1 formation, at least for the time being, with a 4-3-3 the way to go to stop the rot that’s set in.

This Is Futbol has selected the expected Leeds starting XI, featuring four changes from the 1-0 defeat against Reading, including one senior attacker who has to take the fall for his failing last time out.
