Goalkeeper and defence
Rob Elliot (Goalkeeper) – He has been in sensational form recently and has fully justified Benitez’s decision in not buying a new number one goalkeeper for the Premier League.
?DeAndre Yedlin (Right-back) – The full-back was superb against Liverpool and has now set the bar for himself to try match every week. His pace makes him a great weapon for Newcastle both offensively and defensively.
?Jamaal Lascelles (Centre-back) – The captain should retain his spot and has been arguably the standout player for the Magpies so far this campaign.
Florian Lejeune (Centre-back) – The first change should see summer signing Lejeune come into the starting XI and he deserves a chance to shine after a patient return from injury. Ciaran Clark should be the unfortunate defender to miss out and he has looked consistent for the most part this season, but endured a sloppy match against Liverpool.
Javier Manquillo (Left-back) – He should keep his place in the team and needs to impress as Paul Dummett nears a return.
