Three things learned from West Ham v Huddersfield

|

Carroll return huge

West Ham welcomed back Andy Carroll on Monday night following his five-month absence with a groin injury and his return made an immediate positive impact on the team.

The 28-year-old striker may not be the most pleasing player on the eye, but his importance was highlighted with this display against Huddersfield.

His brilliant hold up play and ability in the air adds another dimension to the Hammers side, who have missed him at the point of their attack.

Carroll lasted 82 minutes on his return to the side and is going to be a permanent starter when he is available to play.

The forward made both a physical and mental impact on his side, who have really missed him during his latest injury crisis.
