Aston Villa

Best Aston Villa XI to face Middlesbrough

|

Goalkeeper and defence

Sam Johnstone (Goalkeeper) – He has been one of the better performers so far this season and should keep his spot as the undisputed number one option in goal.

James Bree (Right-back) – The defender should keep his place in the side ahead of duo Alan Hutton and Ritchie De Laet. He deserves another shot to prove his quality and could be an asset if he finds his top form.

James Chester (Centre-back) – Has looked solid so far this year and has rightfully cemented his place in the starting XI.

John Terry (Centre-Back) – He has settled now at Villa Park and is beginning to show some nice passing, deserves to be in the side and needs to try lift some of his team-mates.

Neil Taylor (Left-back) – The full-back is the best at the club in his position and should continue, but will need to be on top of his game against a frightening Boro attack.
