Liverpool youngster Harry Wilson will reportedly be available for loan in January – and Rangers should pounce to try bring him to Ibrox on a short-term basis.

The Mirror report that the Premier League side are planning to loan out the 20-year-old attacker when the transfer window re-opens in January.

It is understood that the Merseyside club want to give the Wales Under-21 international more time away from Anfield to experience regular first-team action and that Championship side Barnsley are keen on a deal.

However, the Gers should try to jump the queue and add the attacker to their squad to give it a much needed lift in the final third.

Wilson is recognised for being an attacking sensation in Liverpool’s youth teams and has scored five goals in three matches this season in the Premier League 2 division.

He usually operates from the right wing and possesses brilliant dribbling that terrorises defences.

Rangers would thrive off having a major goal threat from the wide area and Wilson could be a great fit for the Scottish giants.

The wide man will be keen to prove himself where he is sent out on loan in the second half of the season and would benefit immensely under Pedro Caixinha at Rangers.

The Gers could do with added competition out wide and Wilson could compete alongside the likes of Josh Windass and Daniel Candeias for a starting position.

Wilson is a highly-rated product at Anfield and is ready to make the jump up to senior football, but is not quite ready to force his way into Jurgen Klopp’s plan.

Rangers could be the perfect springboard for him and it would make sense for both parties.
