Niasse could still leave Everton

OPINION

Turkish giants Fenerbahce could still reportedly sign Everton outcast Oumar Niasse.

Turkish outlet Fanatik claim that the Super Lig club are keen on improving their forward options and there is a chance they could land the 27-year-old.

It is understood that a £1.8million loan move could be on the cards and Fenerbahce have until Friday to try wrap up a deal as the Turkish transfer window closes then.

The Times reported that Niasse was close to leaving Goodison Park in the English window ahead of a £7million switch to Crystal Palace, but the deal collapses due to demands for a six-figure agents fee.

The Senegal international is currently out of favour under manager Ronald Koeman and is isolated to the Under-23s side.

Good move for Everton?

Everton are not going to play Niasse this season and it makes every sense for him to leave the Merseyside club.

They would preferably want a permanent move, but a loan deal is better than nothing and could lead to a full exit in the future.

Niasse is too good to be stuck in the youth teams and it seems like there is no way back for him under Koeman.

The striker may feel he didn’t get a fair chance as he failed to score in his seven senior Everton appearances, but he would now struggle to get in ahead of the likes of Wayne Rooney, Sandro Ramirez and Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Likely to happen?

With the Turkish market still open for another four days it seems very likely that Niasse could still get his move away from Everton.

Fenerbahce are keen to bring in a new forward and would offer first-team football to the Senegal international.

Everton have no reason to keep Niasse at the club as he has no long-term future and will surely be keen to get him off their wage bill, even if it’s just on an initial loan.
