Tottenham player ratings v Borussia Dortmund

|

Goalkeeper and defenders

Hugo Lloris 7 – Didn’t have a great deal to do, despite the possession from Dortmund, and could do absolutely nothing about the stunning goal from Andriy Yarmolenko. Quick off his line to save the day from Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang in the first half and aware of where the play was at all times.

Toby Alderweireld 7 – Solid as ever at the back and is a player that Tottenham need to keep hold of and build the defence around for years to come.

Jan Vertonghen 8 – Stopped a certain goal after 30 minutes with a vital clearance and conceded a foul that stopped Dortmund in their tracks in the second half. Decision making was brilliant and the red card he got late on was unbelievably harsh.

Davinson Sanchez 6 – Nearly cost his side a goal when he was caught in possession towards the end of the first half.

Ben Davies 7 – Danny who? If Davies keeps putting in performances like this, people might have to start Googling Rose’s name. Solid at the back and probing going forward.

Serge Aurier 6 – Powerful and a supreme athlete – he only provided glimpses of what he can do today but he will surely depose Kieran Trippier from the first team.
