Rangers get the chance to go top of the Premiership on Friday when they take on Partick Thistle away in the evening kick-off.

Pedro Caixinha’s side are currently fourth in the league, three points behind leaders Celtic with a -4 goal difference.

If they can beat Partick Thistle by four goals at Firhill on Friday night, they’ll go top for the first time since 2011.

And although Celtic might well leapfrog them when they play their game against Ross County on Saturday, it will be a huge sign that things are moving in the right direction after a dismal campaign last season.

The good news is that Rangers are scoring goals at the moment – as it stands they’ve only scored one less than Celtic and won their last two league games 3-1 (Ross County) and 4-1 (Dundee).

Caixinha’s squad is gelling after his summer overhaul and the good news is that he can name a strong line-up and a relatively unchanged one from the side that won 4-1 last Saturday.

One change that Caixinha should make is to drop the 33-year-old attacker Niko Kranjcar in favour of Josh Windass.

The 23-year-old starred when he replaced Kranjcar on Saturday, scoring and adding an assist, and that should be enough to see him win a starting place on Friday as Rangers go in search of the goals that would see them top.

Here is the line-up which This Is Futbol thinks will get the goals tomorrow and put Rangers back on top of the Premiership – for a day at least.
