Paul Ince believes that West Ham United will face an extremely difficult afternoon when they travel to the Hawthorns to face West Bromwich Albion in the Premier League on Saturday.

The former West Ham box-to-box midfielder believes that the Hammers will succumb to a 2-1 defeat against Tony Pulis’ men this weekend.

Slaven Bilic’s side picked up their first win of the Premier League season last Monday night when they beat newly-promoted Huddersfield Town 2-0 at the London Stadium.

However, the Hammers have failed to pick up a single point on their travels in the league this campaign, conceding a total of 10 goals in the process.

Writing in his column for the Express, Ince believes that West Ham will continue this poor run of form away from home although he feels that it will be a tight affair.

“Tony Pulis’ teams are always tough to beat, and they’ll want to make up for their result last weekend,” he wrote.

“The Hammers’ tails will probably be up though, so it’s hard to split these two.

“I’d say it’ll be 2-1 to West Brom.”

OPINION

This weekend’s match is a massive test for the Hammers. Although West Ham managed to pick up some much needed three points last week, they still needed a deflected goal to open the scoring which helped them to settle down and enjoy their football on the night. West Brom will certainly pose more problems than Huddersfield and they will also be very difficult to break down in defence. Slaven Bilic will be hopeful that his side can produce a much better performance than they managed last season where they found themselves 4-0 down before the hour mark at the Hawthorns. The Baggies suffered a disappointing defeat to newly-promoted Brighton last weekend and it could potentially be the perfect time for West Ham to take advantage and come away with a positive result. Unlike Ince, we believe that this match will end in a draw.
