Roy Hodgson is set to become the new Crystal Palace manager – and Liverpool fans have taken to Twitter to criticise the impending appointment.
Frank de Boer was sacked by the Londoners on Monday morning after a short reign of just five matches and 77 days in charge.
The Eagles are 19th in the Premier League after losing 1-0 at Burnley on Sunday and failed to score in their four league matches under De Boer.
The BBC Sport website claim that former Liverpool and England manager Hodgson will immediately take over the reins at Selhurst Park, with the appointment also widely reported elsewhere.
Liverpool fans took to social media en masse to deliver some amusing comments about the impending appointment of Hodgson, who took over the Merseysiders in July 2010 but had a wretched spell in charge and was sacked six months later.

Former Ajax boss De Boer, 47, only took over at Palace this summer as the successor of Sam Allardyce, who left after helping Palace avoid relegation last season.
Should Hodgson take the job on a permanent basis, he will be the club’s seventh permanent manager in six years.
