How Aston Villa should line up v Burton

Aston Villa travel to Burton on Tuesday night for a Championship clash and can pick up three points if they make just one change to their side.

The Midlands giants earned a narrow 2-1 win over Nottingham Forest in their last game and must now look to build some momentum.

Manager Steve Bruce appears to have stumbled across a 4-4-2 formation and that seems the best fit for the group of players at his disposal.

Villa are currently ninth-placed in the league table after a moderate start to the campaign, but have two very winnable fixtures coming up against Burton and Bolton respectively.

Glenn Whelan should be the sole player axed from the team that beat Forest at the weekend as he delivered a poor performance.

The midfielder has been a mainstay in the side so far this season and played in eight of the nine league fixtures, but should be dropped to the bench until he can rediscover his top form.

The 33-year-old needs to improve on the ball and be more intelligent in possession, plus a rest on Tuesday could serve him well.

This Is Futbol has selected the best possible Villa XI that can crush Burton if they play anywhere near their best.

Here is that team, including a 27-year-old that is beginning to get back to his best.
