Sky Sports pundit David Prutton has predicted that Leeds’ fast start to the season will continue when they visit Millwall at the Den on Saturday.

The ground is never an easy place to get a victory from – and Millwall’s supporters would love to beat Leeds more than most – but Prutton has predicted that Thomas Christiansen’s men will come away with a 2-0 victory.

The three points would keep Leeds at the top of the Championship and unbeaten after eight games, with six wins and two draw.

“Leeds are riding on the crest of a wave,” Prutton said in his column for Sky Sports.

“Thomas Christiansen has had a great start, their recruitment looks good and it doesn’t look like they’re going to miss Chris Wood at all.

“Millwall will be happy to get back home after a couple of tough away trips. They beat Norwich 4-0 last time, but I think Leeds will have too much for them.”

OPINION

Leeds’ start to the 2017/18 campaign is markedly different from the start Garry Monk had with the side last season.

They lost four out of their first six games, and although they went on to mount a serious challenge for the play-offs, they missed out by five points to Fulham.

The other big difference is that Christiansen has managed to spread the goals around this season, with Kalvin Phillips, Samu Saiz and Pierre-Michel Lasogga all looking a threat up front.

That’s a contrast to last season, when Chris Wood was relied on to score the bulk of the goals for Monk’s side.

If Christiansen’s men do manage to secure another three points on Saturday, the belief that they can challenge for an automatic spot back to the Premier League will start growing – among players and fans alike.
