Nemanja Matic made his competitive debut for Manchester United in their defeat to Real Madrid on Wednesday – and the club’s supporters were very impressed with his performance.
The central midfielder completed 90 minutes in the Super Cup and was unable to prevent United from slipping to a 2-1 defeat.
Madrid pair Casemiro and Isco scored two well-taken goals for the Spanish giants, while Lukaku netted a simple tap in for the Premier League outfit.
Matic may have been on the losing team, but the defensive midfielder produced a strong performance in the centre of the park.
The 29-year-old completed his move to Old Trafford for £40million from Chelsea this summer and his combative display against Madrid showcased his talents.
United fans were extremely impressed with how Matic performed in the Super Cup final and feel he has been an excellent piece of business.

Matic is one of the high-profile names to arrive at United in the summer transfer window and it appears he has already won over the club’s fans.
The Serbia international previously enjoyed success with league rivals Chelsea and won two Premier League titles at Stamford Bridge.
However, he has completed the switch to United and re-joined his former manager Jose Mourinho in the process.
Matic is set to be an ever-present in the starting XI in the new campaign and him sitting at the base of the midfield allows teammates such as Paul Pogba and Ander Herrera to join in with the attack.
