Newcastle should consider a late swoop to try and interrupt a potential loan move for Tottenham winger Georges-Kevin N’Koudou to Italian club Hellas Verona.

The Magpies need to bring in additional reinforcements before the close of the window and targeting the Spurs 22-year-old would be a smart idea.

Sky Italy journalist Gianluca Di Marzio has reported on his official website that Verona’s sporting director Filippo Fusco is in talks with Spurs about a potential loan move.

However, there is still time for Newcastle to hijack the deal and they should try get him to complete a move to St James’ Park.

N’Koudou is a speed machine that has not been given a chance so far in English football and it would make far more sense for Spurs to loan him to a Premier League club rather than Serie A outfit Verona.

Newcastle owner Mike Ashley has reiterated the point that the club will not be able to pay big money in the summer transfer window and that means investigating smart loan moves may be the best tactic.

Rafael Benitez is in desperate need of more attacking reinforcements if he side are to avoid relegation and should turn their attention to Spurs’ outcast.

N’Koudou is a pacy right winger that could provide competition and would be a great goal threat.

The Frenchman may not have shown his talents yet in the Premier League due to his limited game time, but impressed during the 2015/16 campaign with Marseille.

He managed an impressive 10 goals and five assists during that season for the French side, something he could look to replicate if given the opportunity.

N’Koudou would be desperate to prove his quality after a frustrating year at Spurs and would get a real chance to do that at St James’ Park.

Newcastle’s current squad looks a little short of goals and they can’t rely on Dwight Gayle to once again be the main provider, but N’Koudou could chip in with a decent amount if given the chance.

His pace is yet to really be exposed to Premier League defences, but there is huge potential there and it would be a positive signing for the North East club if they could pull it off.
