OPINION
Newcastle have reportedly made a move to sign Chelsea defender Kenedy on loan.
The Mail claim that the Magpies have made an approach for the 21-year-old and that the Blues are keen for him to gain first-team experience away from Stamford Bridge.
Rafael Benitez’s side have already signed Christian Atsu from their Premier League rivals this summer on a permanent basis and are now trying to swoop for Brazilian ace Kenedy.
Good move for Newcastle?
Kenedy is a versatile player that has been transformed into a left-back, but has played on the left wing and even as a striker at the beginning of his career.
The youngster needs a move away from the Premier League champions to mature, but he previously made just one appearance for Watford during a six-month loan last season.
Newcastle still need some additions to their squad and Kenedy doesn’t fit the profile of a player they need.
They are in desperate need of players that can improve the starting XI and preferably with tons of Premier League know-how at their disposal.
However, Kenedy is unlikely to get in ahead of Paul Dummett at left-back and is not the kind of marquee signing that the club’s supporters are patiently waiting for to arrive at St James’ Park.

Likely to happen?
Kenedy looks set to leave Chelsea on a temporary basis in the new season and Newcastle seems like a probably destination.
The defender could provide back-up to Dummett at full-back and his attacking exploits also mean he can be used further forward on the wing.
Benitez is trying to bring in some high-profile names to boost his squad, but has so far only made mid-range signings.
Kenedy appears he could be the next in line as he looks to secure more regular football.
