Leeds midfielder Stuart Dallas has agreed a new three-year deal with the club, keeping him at Elland Road until the end of the 2019/20 season.

The Northern Ireland international joined Leeds from Brentford in August 2015, and has since made 90 appearances for the club, scoring nine times.

He has made four appearances in the Championship this season, scoring the second goal in the impressive 2-0 win against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.

The news was announced on the offficial Leeds Twitter page on Wednesday afternoon.

He becomes the seventh first-team player to sign a new contract at Leeds United this summer, after Ronaldo Vieira, Gaetano Berardi, Tyler Denton, Kalvin Phillips, Eunan O’Kane and Liam Cooper.

OPINION

It’s been a crazy few days for Leeds and the excitement is showing no sign of stopping until the summer transfer window finally slams shut. In the midst of all of the talk of new signings, they’ve just extended the contract of Stuart Dallas, who becomes the seventh Leeds player to commit his long-term future to the club. Thomas Christiansen is building a club that is not only attracting players, but one that players want to stay at too. That’s incredibly encouraging, especially as you can see so many bigger clubs imploding with dissatisfied players. The 26-year-old has been a vital part of the Leeds puzzle for the past two seasons and has already contributed a valuable goal this campaign. His new three-year deal is yet more good news for the Elland Road faithful.
