Chris Sutton believes Rangers will pick up their second three points of the 2017-18 Scottish Premiership campaign against Ross County on Sunday afternoon.

The Gers travel to Victoria Park in search of just their second league win of the season, after beating Motherwell but losing to Hibernian and drawing 0-0 against Hearts last time out.

Former Celtic striker Sutton claimed on his personal Twitter account that Rangers would secure a 1-0 victory away at Jim McIntyre’s side, but would not gain any ground on Celtic as Sutton believes the Hoops will beat St. Johnstone 3-1.

Rangers will be without attacking midfielder Josh Windass against Ross County, as the 23-year-old suffered a rib injury against Hearts last time out.

However, Pedro Caixinha will be delighted that nine-time Mexico international Eduardo Herrera has returned from a knock that kept him out of last Saturday’s 0-0 draw.

Rangers drew 1-1 last time they faced Ross County last time they played against the Scottish Premiership side, with captain Lee Wallace equalising twenty minutes from time to earn a point.

But Caixinha will be under pressure to go one better than last time around, as he already sees his Rangers side sit five points behind Celtic.

OPINION

Rangers must secure all three points against Ross County or pressure will begin to mount on the shoulders of current manager Caixinha. The former Al Gharafa boss has failed to see his summer signings change the fortunes of the Gers at this early stage, with Rangers knocked out of the Europa League qualifying round in the first round and already falling behind Brendan Rodgers’ Celtic. A loss and Caixinha’s future will begin to come under scrutiny, despite having three years remaining on his contract. Three points and a bit of momentum will see the pressure all but evaporate if Caixinha can get his side on a run.
