Pierre-Michel Lasogga has flown into England to discuss a transfer with Leeds, according to a reliable journalist.

Lasogga has been linked heavily to Leeds as replacement for striker Chris Wood, who left to go to Premier League club Burnley.

The Yorkshire Evening Post had previously reported that the striker was being targeted by Leeds, with Hamburg willing to help out with his high wages.

Now, Phil Hay has reported that the player has travelled to England for talks with the club.

This came just after a tweet from Phil Hay that said the Leeds move for Lagossa was still on.

Good move for Leeds?

This would be a great move for Leeds and a real coup for Thomas Christiansen. Lasogga is a proven scorer in the Bundesliga and is reportedly on £50k-a-week wages. For Leeds to be able to attract someone of this calibre to the club is a real statement of intent and he could be the man to push the club back towards the Premier League. If he arrives it’s fair to say that Chris Wood’s move to Burnley could have been the best thing to happen to Leeds this summer.

Likely to happen?

With Lasogga reportedly flying in for talks, there’s a real possibility that this deal could come off. The biggest hurdle was his wages, but if he’s willing to fly in for talks then there’s a chance that Hamburg and Leeds have come to some sort of arrangement. Or Lasogga is willing to take a pay cut to move to Leeds and try to fire himself into the Premier League.
