How Tottenham should line up to face Chelsea

|

Goalkeeper and defenders

Hugo Lloris (Goalkeeper) – Captain and Spurs’ leader both on and off the pitch. Lloris is one of the most important members of Spurs side and he will surely start against Chelsea.

Kieran Trippier (Right-back) – If the former Burnley defender recovers to around 80 per cent of his overall fitness levels then he should start, with Kyle Walker-Peters not yet proven against the Premier League’s best despite a man of the match display against Newcastle.

Jan Vertonghen (Centre-back) – The former Ajax defender will be desperate to perform well with imminent new signing Davinson Sanchez looking to stake his claim for a place in the side.

Toby Alderweireld (Centre-back) – Continuing to form a relationship at the heart of the Spurs defence with Belgium national side teammate Vertonghen, Alderweireld must start to keep Alvaro Morata quiet.

Ben Davies (Left-back) – Wales international Davies was excellent against Newcastle and even scored the north London giants’ second goal. In the absence of Rose, he will surely start on the left.
