Watford manager Marco Silva revealed that Jerome Sinclair’s future at Vicarage Road is uncertain this summer and Leeds should look to sign the attacker.

Hornets boss Silva was quoted by the Daily Mirror‘s transfer news blog (Friday, 4.36pm) as stating that he is yet to make a decision over the future of the 20-year-old striker this summer.

Leeds are said to be in the market for a new striker this summer, with the Yorkshire Evening Post reporting that the Whites are eyeing a move for Hamburg forward Pierre-Michel Lasogga.

Manager Thomas Christiansen already has Chris Wood and Caleb Ekuban available to him, while Marcus Antonsson has joined League One outfit Blackburn Rovers on loan.

However, the Yorkshire Evening Post revealed that Leeds had rejected a £12million offer for New Zealand international Wood from Premier League side Burnley.

It remains to be seen if Burnley or indeed any other Premier League sides re-enter the transfer market for Wood, but Leeds should be looking at potential replacements in case the unthinkable happens.

Sinclair has plummeted down the pecking order since moving to Hertfordshire from Liverpool back in the summer of 2016, not least since the signing of Andre Gray from Burnley.

The four-time England Under-17 international has made just seven senior appearances for Watford, and was loaned to Birmingham last season where he was only given brief opportunities to impress.

However, with or without Wood, Leeds must look to add Watford’s number 19 to their promotion-chasing squad to give them cover both out wide and as a centre-forward.

Able to play anywhere in the final third, Sinclair needs to find a home where he can finally showcase his bubbling potential and Elland Road should be that venue.

He showed just the kind of talent that Leeds need in their hunt for promotion during his 43 appearances for Liverpool’s second string, scoring 13 goals as well as adding eight assists.

Adding Sinclair will give Leeds the pace, strength and attacking tenacity in the final third as well providing Christiansen with top-quality cover as the Whites look to end their 13-year stay in the Football League.
