Newcastle must rival Brighton for Everton’s Niasse

Newcastle have already lost two strikers this summer and must bring in Everton’s Oumar Niasse as a replacement to ease their problem area.

The Daily Mail claimed on their transfer news blog on Thursday (04:53pm) that the 27-year-old is interesting Newcastle’s fellow Premier League new boys Brighton.

It is said that the Seagulls are willing to pay £6million for the eight-time Senegal international, after he escaped the tag of a flop at Goodison Park during the second half of the 2016-17 season on loan with Hull.

The Toon have already lost youngster Adam Armstrong to Championship side Bolton on loan, while Daryl Murphy has left permanently to join Mark Warburton’s Nottingham Forest this summer.

That leaves just Dwight Gayle and Aleksander Mitrovic’s as options in the final third, with Rafa Benitez yet to complete a signing for a new striker this summer.
