OPINION

Aston Villa attacker Andre Green is reportedly being tracked by Premier League duo Bournemouth and Crystal Palace.

The Mirror claim that the two top-flight clubs sent scouts to watch the 19-year-old last week against Reading.

It is understood they have entered the race for the winger, with Tottenham, Arsenal, Manchester City and Liverpool also tracking his progress since developing into a first teamer.

Green is a product of the Villa academy and he scored his first senior goal on Saturday during a 4-2 win over Norwich in the Championship.

Good move for Villa?

Green has already become an important player for Steve Bruce this summer and Villa should not let him go at any price.

The Midlands giants will be keen to have academy prospects in their side and they have a very talented individual in Green.

The wide man is beginning to make the step up to senior level and has the potential to cement a position in the starting line-up if he continues to improve.

His performances have already caught the eye of several Premier League teams and that should be enough to convince Villa to keep him for the foreseeable future.

They would be cashing in way too early if they let Green leave now and he could be worth much more in years to come.

Likely to happen?

Villa look set to keep Green around the first team this season and it seems unlikely that they would move him on in the remainder of the summer window.

Premier League teams have become interested in the teenager, but are yet to make any formal approaches and would surely be deterred by any potential high asking price.

He is still at the beginning of his senior career and is set to continue his development at Villa Park for now, where he can excel under the tutelage of manager Bruce.
