Mauricio Pochettino will be sweating over the fitness of Kieran Trippier as he prepares his Tottenham side to face Chelsea at Wembley on Sunday afternoon.

The BBC claimed that right-back Trippier, 26, is to undergo a late fitness test on his ankle before Spurs decide if the former Burnley defender is to play against Antonio Conte’s side.

However, Pochettino will be without long-term absentees Danny Rose, Erik Lamela and Georges N’Koudou with no definite time scale on when the injured trio will return to first-team action.

Spurs come into the game in high spirits after earning a comfortable 2-0 win over Newcastle at St. James’ Park last Sunday in their first Premier League outing of the season, while Chelsea were embarrassed at Stamford Bridge by Burnley.

This Is FutbolĀ selects Tottenham’s best possible starting eleven to face London rivals Chelsea, including two changes to the side that beat Newcastle with a 28-year-old being dropped after a disappointing display.
