How Leeds should line up against Newport County

|

Goalkeeper and defenders

Rob Green (Goalkeeper) – Veteran stopper Green should be handed his first start of the season and the chance to show Christiansen just what he is capable of, with Felix Wiedwald firmly planted as the Whites’ number one.

Vurnon Anita (Right-back) – Holland international Anita has played at both left-back and central midfield this season, but must surely revert to right-back on Tuesday night to give Luke Ayling a well-deserved rest.

Conor Shaughnessy (Centre-back) – Shaughnessy started against Port Vale during the 4-1 win and must be given a chance to continue his impressive start, as well as giving key man Pontus Jansson some time to recharge the batteries.

Liam Cooper (Centre-back) – Christiansen has been delighted with the impact made by Cooper after he was made captain at Elland Road, and his heart-on-the-sleeve performances should see him continue at the back against Newport.

Cameron Borthwick-Jackson (Left-back) – Manchester United loanee Borthwick-Jackson was an unused substitute against Sunderland and should be given a run out to earn some game time and keep things ticking over.
