Coutinho fit to play for Brazil

|

Liverpool midfielder Philippe Coutinho is fit and ready to play football, according to a report, despite missing the start of the season for the Reds – and fans are not happy at all.

The Liverpool Echo reported that the wantaway 25-year-old is currently on international duty and that the Brazil doctor has said he is fit to play Ecuador, despite being out for almost a month with a back injury.

Coutinho hasn’t played for Liverpool this season after putting in a transfer request in a bid to force a move through to Barcelona.

Brazil doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, said, as quoted in the Echo, “From a medical point of view, Philippe is in the perfect condition to play.”

Brazil are set to play Ecuador on Friday – after the transfer window has shut – and it is claimed that Coutinho could be set to start.

Liverpool fans are not happy with that news and took to Twitter to voice their displeasure at the attacker who shone at Anfield last season.

There has been some good news for Liverpool fans today though, to offset the Coutinho situation.

The BBC reported earlier on Monday that Liverpool had agreed a club-record deal to sign Naby Keita from RB Leipzig next summer.

The fee was said to be for the player’s release clause of £48million, with an undisclosed amount on top to secure the deal a year before the 22-year-old is set to join.
