Chelsea have agreed a fee for Arsenal’s midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, according to a report.

Sky Sports claim in their Transfer Centre blog (4.31pm) that the two clubs have agreed a fee believed to be £35million for the England international.

The player is on international duty at the moment but it is reported that he could undergo parts of his medical at the England training centre.

Oxlade-Chamberlain joined Arsenal from Southampton six years ago for a fee close to £13million.

He’s made 198 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners, scoring 20 goals and adding 32 assists.

He’s also won 27 caps for England, scoring six goals for his country.

Good move for Chelsea?

The jury’s out. Oxlade-Chamberlain has flattered to deceive for a long time at Arsenal, despite being heralded by manager Arsene Wenger as a real talent. He’s been a fully-fledged England international for a long time and yet still no one seems sure whether he’s the real deal or not. We’ll find out soon if he heads to Chelsea. He’s been playing as a wing-back this season under Wenger and has looked pretty awful, but that could be because of his impending move.

Likely to happen?

It now looks likely that Oxlade-Chamberlain will move, with a medical on the cards while he’s on international duty. Arsenal have looked shocking this season with pundits and fans alike saying that some of their fplayers don’t look like they want to play their any more. Now it looks like one of their top stars is on the way out and to London rivals Chelsea too. That won’t make the fans happy, although Wenger still has a few days to invest the money in a new player. If he doesn’t do that the #WengerOut banners could be flying  again at the Emirates after only three games this season.
