Stan Collymore has fired shots at Rangers on Twitter after their latest bit of a transfer business.

Nottingham Forest completed the signing of Barrie McKay from Ibrox on Wednesday, less than 24 hours after Pedro Caixinha’s endured a humiliating 2-0 Europa League loss to Luxembourg minnows Progres Niederkorn.

Former Forest winger Collymore, 46, remarked on his personal Twitter account that the move was a sign of “good Progres” from the Glaswegians, in reference to Tuesday’s debacle.

Rangers were dumped out of the Europa League in the first qualifying round of the competition following a 2-1 aggregate loss to Progres Niederkorn.

They went to Luxembourg knowing that just a draw would have seen them qualify for the next round, but Kenny Miller’s solo goal in the first leg quickly became a thing of the past as the Luxembourgers netted twice in the second half to make a huge dent on the progress the Light Blues were hoping to make under Caixinha.

The Portuguese boss has so far completed the signings of eight new players, with all but two of them handed debuts over the two legs against Progres.

McKay has became Mark Warburton’s second recruit of the summer, following in the footsteps of Jason Cummings as he switch the Scottish Premiership for the English Championship.

Collymore’s statement about good progress is surely a tongue-in-cheek remark about Rangers, who he makes no secret of his animosity towards on his social media account.
