Striker Jon Dadi Bodvarsson has signed for Championship club Reading after Wolves agreed the terms of his departure, it was confirmed on Friday.

The Midlands side announced via their official Twitter account that the 25-year-old had left for the Royals for an undisclosed fee after just one-year at the club.

Bodvarsson was brought in by Wolves when they were under the leadership of Walter Zenga.

His move saw him join from Bundesliga 2 club Kaiserslautern after scoring just twice in 15 matches in the 2015-16 campaign.

The powerful front man saw an even worse record in England, bagging on just three occasions in 48 matches in all competitions during his solo season at Wolves.

He will now be hoping for vast improvement at Jaap Stam’s side, who fell in the play-off final last season and they themselves will be looking to get Bodvarsson to show his form, which has seen him capped 32 times for the senior Iceland team.

Wolves, meanwhile are going under mass changes with summer appointment Nuno Espirito Santo looking to build a team capable of winning promotion.

They have not yet brought in a forward player to take Bodvarsson’s place in the squad, but they have made the high profile signing of Ruben Neves and supporters are excited about the upcoming campaign.
