Celtic are closing in on their third signing of the summer window after Manchester City midfielder Olivier Ntcham underwent a medical on Saturday evening, according to the Daily Mail.

The news outlet details that the Hoops are “on the brink of securing” the signature of the 21-year-old Frenchman as he went through fitness tests in Glasgow while Brendan Rodgers’ men completed their pre-season tour of Dublin with a 9-0 win over Shamrock Rovers.

The report also follows claims from the Scottish Sun which stated that Celtic were plotting a £4million bid for the France Under-21 international, who has three years remaining on his contract.

Ntcham himself has spent the past two years on loan in Serie A with Genoa, a similar deal which saw young star Patrick Roberts spend the past two campaigns at Celtic from Manchester City.

The Frenchman ended up playing 41 times in total for the Italian club, scoring three goals, while also providing two and it is believed that it is his performances in Serie A which attracted Rodgers into believing he would be a good ‘number 10’ for the Celtic team.

If the medical all went to plan then Ntcham would follow Jonny Hayes and Kundai Benyu through the Parkhead doors.
