Everton are ready to pay the release clause of Las Palmas attacker Jonathan Viera, according to Marca.

The Spanish news outlet have detailed on their live blog (Monday, 4.38pm) that the Toffees are ready to continue their spending and pay the £26.6million which will activate the clause placed on the 27-year-old left-winger.

However, the Merseysiders could also face competition for his signature and it is detailed that Premier League rivals Swansea have had an offer worth £22.1million rejected by Las Palmas for the former Spain Under-21 international.

Everton have so far added seven new players to their squad this summer as manager Ronald Koeman prepares for a Europa League campaign in the upcoming season.

But, only Henry Onyekuru is able to play out wide in the new signings and he has been sent straight back on loan to Belgian giants Anderlecht.

This means Koeman could be turning his attentions to a wide player such as Viera, who has been a part of the Las Palmas side since 2015 after agreeing a transfer of around £800,000 from Standard Liege.

It has marked his second spell with the La Liga outfit after starting his career at Las Palmas and during his time at the club he has returned 40 goals and 21 assists in 152 encounters.

Last season alone he managed to bag seven goals and turned provider on nine occasions in 33 matches in all competitions and he still has four years remaining on his current contract.
