Serie A side Sampdoria have reportedly tabled a bid worth £7.5million to sign Arsenal’s Jack Wilshere, and London rivals West Ham should match that offer.

Sky Sports transfer expert Kaveh Solhekol revealed the news on his personal Twitter account, stating that £6million of the fee would be paid up front while the rest accumulates to about £1.5million in add-ons.

Wilshere, 25, is unlikely to remain at the Emirates Stadium this summer after spending the entire 2016-17 season on loan with Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

A number of injury problems has seen Wilshere plummet down the Arsenal pecking order, with the likes of Aaron Ramsey, Francis Coquelin, Mohamed Elneny and Granit Xhaka now above him.

West Ham are likely to be in the market for new signings after a dismal season last time around that saw them finish four places behind their 2015-16 campaign, in a lowly 11th place.

Now, This Is Futbol considers why the signing of Wilshere would give the Hammers the kind of quality necessary to put last season behind them and replicate the form that saw them qualify for the Europa League in 2016.

Slaven Bilic’s job could be on the line if he does not blow rivals out of the water to win the race for the midfield kingpin:
