Rafa Benitez would solve his left-back dilemma at Newcastle by raiding former side Liverpool for Alberto Moreno this summer.
The Telegraph claim another of Benitez’s former sides in Serie A giants Napoli had a bid of £11million rejected for the speed machine, with the Merseyside outfit said to be holding out for a fee of at least £15million.
Moreno, 24, was displaced during the 2016-17 season by utility man James Milner on the left side of defence, after a number of questionable performances that forced manager Jurgen Klopp into making a decision on his place in the starting eleven.
Known for his desire to get forward and join the attack, Moreno would fit right in at home in Benitez’s style of play at St. James’ Park which includes looking to form an overlap on the flanks.
