Thomas Christiansen should catapult Leeds United into the reported race for Wolves attacker Joe Mason this summer as he looks to give his new side the attacking edge in their hunt for promotion.

West London Sport claim Nottingham Forest and QPR are keen on signing the 26-year-old forward, who has struggled to earn first-team football at Molineux this season after a number of injury problems.

However, now back from injury and ready to go, the uncapped Irishman could be tempted to leave the Midlands outfit in order to get his career back on track.

With two years remaining on his contract, it remains to be seen how much interested parties would have to pay for the former Cardiff, Plymouth and Bolton man.

This Is FutbolĀ considers three reasons why the Yorkshire giants would strengthen their chances of returning to the Premier League for the first time since 2004 with the signing of Mason, as two senior attackers fail to provide the quality required.
