Celtic must join the reported race to sign Aberdeen star Kenny McLean this summer in order to give Brendan Rodgers’ side depth in the middle of the park ahead of a Champions League campaign.
The Sun claim Championship duo Birmingham and QPR are after the powerful midfielder, who was one of the first names on Derek McInnes’ team sheet at Aberdeen last season.
It is believed that McLean was also set to join Sunderland this summer as McInnes who was on the verge of completing a move to the Stadium of Light, before the Dons manager threw a spanner in the works.
Celtic have completed two signings this summer in McLean’s former teammate Jonny Hayes as well as Kundai Benyu from Ipswich Town, but must look to Aberdeen midfielder McLean if Brendan Rodgers is to blow all domestic competition away for a second consecutive campaign.
