Wolves confirmed on Saturday afternoon the signing of left-back Barry Douglas from Turkish club Konyaspor.

The Midlands club announced that they had agreed the terms of a two-year contract with the 27-year-old for an undisclosed fee via their official Twitter account and website.

Douglas has become Wolves’ fourth summer signing as manager Nuno Espirito Santo looks to build his own team.

It is clear that the ex-Porto boss is planning to strengthen the Midlands clubs back line with all four of the in comings playing in the defensive positions.

Centre-back duo Ryan Bennett and Roderick Miranda were the first to complete moves to the Championship side with right-back Phil Ofosu-Ayeh following soon behind.

Left-back Douglas now makes up the new look back four and it is his first time of playing in England following spells in home nation Scotland, Poland and Turkey to date.

Last season the Scotsman played in 31 matches in all competitions, including four appearances in the Europa League with Turkish top-flight side Konyaspor and he will now be hoping for a similar game time at Wolves.

In the last campaign Wolves were forced to play with natural right sided player Matt Doherty as their left-back due to a lack of options, but they will now be hoping that Douglas can resolve the issue as they plan to mount a promotion bid.
