Wolves are the clear front runners to sign Bournemouth forward Benik Afobe, according to the latest bookmakers’ odds.

Sky Bet have placed the Championship side at 9/4 to secure the signature of the 24-year-old striker during the summer transfer window and bring him back to the club for a second spell.

West Bromwich Albion are the only other team in the running to sign Afobe and they are placed at 16/1.

The striker is placed at 1/3 to remain with the Premier League side next season.

The Congolese forward is not the only player who is reportedly on Wolves’ radar this summer as the Daily Mail recently reported that the club have made a £14million bid for Porto midfielder Ruben Neves.

Afobe signed for Wolves in the 2015 January transfer window and he was an instant favourite with the Molineux support as he scored a total of 13 league goals.

The striker’s contribution was not enough for the West Midlands club as they missed out on the playoff places that season on goal difference.

Afobe continued to deliver the goods for Wolves during the following campaign as he finished as the club’s top goalscorer with 10 strikes to his name despite completing a switch to Bournemouth midway through the season.

The forward has continued his fine form with the Premier League, contributing with six goals and three assists last season.
