West Ham lead Premier League hunt for £8.5million-rated Ndiaye

West Ham have made an approach to secure the signing of Osmanlispor’s £8.5million-rated midfielder Badou Ndiaye after reigniting their pursuit, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claim on their website that the Hammers have been scouting the player for the last season and made contact with his club over a potential move following their final game, with Osmanlispor looking for a transfer fee of at least £8.5million.

They also report that fellow Premier League side Crystal Palace and recently relegated Sunderland are considering a move for the 26-year-old, but it is Slaven Bilic’s side who are in pole position to secure his signing.

Turkish newspaper Haberturk had claimed that the Hammers had submitted an £8.8million bid for Ndiaye at the end of last month, but that report appears to have been wide of the mark.

However, the Daily Mail do quote the general manager of Osmanlispor, Ender Yurtguven, as stating that they have “an agreement in principle” with an English side over the 26-year-old’s transfer.

Ndiaye was in impressive form last season, scoring seven goals and contributing three assists from midfield in his 42 appearances.

Able to play in an attacking role or on the right flank, the eight-time-capped Senegal international has 75 Osmanlispor appearances under his belt, after joining from Norwegian side FK Bodo/Glimt in the summer of 2015.

He could swap be swapping countries with West Ham’s Algerian winger Sofiane Feghouli, who is said to be on the verge of securing a move to Turkish side Galatasaray.
