Tottenham have made an offer to sign Club Atletico Independiente striker Ezequiel Barco, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish outlet claims that the 18-year-old received an offer from the north London club’s manager Mauricio Pochettino a couple of weeks ago.

The report claims that Spurs have not received an answer as the player has told his representatives to offer his services to La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid, but neither club are interested in signing the youngster this summer.

Tottenham fans will be delighted with the news as their club have been unable to complete a single signing in the summer transfer window.

It is reported that the teenager has attracted a lot of interest from top European teams and he is expected to be named in the next Argentina national team to face Uruguay in the important World Cup qualifier next month.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino is likely to have excellent knowledge of the Argentinian game as he spent the early stages of his footballing career playing for Newell’s Old Boys.

Barco produced some impressive displays during his debut campaign in top tier of Argentinian football last season, contributing with three goals in 25 appearances in all competitions.

The teenager has also featured for the Argentina Under-20 national team, making a total of eight international appearances.

The youngster’s current contract runs out in 2019.
