Tottenham are ready to table a bid of £15.8million (€18million) in order to secure the signing of young Venezuelan midfielder Yeferson Soteldo, according to Don Balon.

The Spanish football newspaper claim on their website that the Lilywhites’ move could force Real Madrid to play their hand, as the Spanish giants looked to swoop for the pocket-sized 20-year-old next summer after another season in South America.

They also report that fellow Premier League side Watford are keen on bringing him to England as well.

Able to play as a winger on either flank or in an attacking midfield role, the 20-year-old is currently playing for Chilean side Huachipato after securing a move in January from Zamora FC.

He is yet to get off the mark for his current club in eight appearances, but he did hit home 21 goals in 84 appearances for his former side.

Standing at just 5″3′ tall, Soteldo is known for his dribbling ability and close ball control, and his impressive performances have also earned him four caps for Venezuela, his debut coming in a 1-0 victory at home against Costa Rica back in February 2016.

He also starred as the Venezuala U20 side reached the final of the U20 World Cup this year, but despite his appearance from the bench, he could not prevent England from securing a narrow 1-0 victory.
