Tottenham are expected to pay the £22million asking price for full-back Ricardo Pereira as a replacement for Kyle Walker, according to the London Evening Standard.

The newspaper claim on their website that Porto are confident of securing their valuation for the 23-year-old, who is eyed as a replacement for Spurs’ England international defender.

Walker has been reported to be angling for a move away from Tottenham for months, with the club said to be demanding at least £50million from Premier League rivals Manchester City for his signing.

The North London side are ready to let him depart though, after a row with Mauricio Pochettino at the end of last season appeared to secure his fate.

Pereira, who can play on either flank but is most suited to the right and is renowned for his pace and ability to bomb forward, has spent the last two seasons on loan at French side Nice from his parent club, establishing himself as a key player on the way to their third placed finish last season.

He made 30 appearances across all competitions during the campaign, scoring twice and setting up his team mates with four assists.

He is also a two-time-capped Portuguese international, having made his debut as a substitute in a 1-0 friendly defeat to Russia back in 2015, appearing on the right wing.

Pochettino’s current first choice right-back is former Burnley man Kieran Trippier, impressing in the first team after stepping up to replace the dropped Walker.

However the Evening Standard claim the manager wants at least two first team players per position, and with Walker’s departure, the next in line would be youngster Kyle Walker-Peters, who is yet to make a senior appearance at the club.
